The Out of Trouble team is working hard to reduce child and youth imprisonment but we can't do it alone. You can help us by lobbying your MPs and other elected representatives to do more to secure change. The more people get involved, the greater the impact we can have.
Children in care are more than twice as likely to end up in trouble with the law than their peers - and in some parts of the country the disparity is even greater.
Most children become looked after as a result of abuse, neglect or family breakdown.
Local authorities have a duty to support the children they look after and help them out of trouble. Yet up to half the children who end up in custody have been in care at some point.
We need your help to put a stop to this.
Email your elected councillors today highlighting the percentage of children in care who offended last year and asking them what they are doing to reduce this.
